Jorgensen's recipes put the fun back in both preparing and eating food that young people can enjoy without reservation. Preparations range from extremely simple popcorn on the stovetop to more complex soups and casseroles. Recipes focus on excluding the most common dietary allergensprimarily nuts, soy, eggs, wheat, and dairy. Color-coded tabs on each recipe reiterate the allergens that are avoided. Chapters separate food by course and include breakfast, snack, and dessert recipes. Not only do the recipes entice young readers to eat the dishes they include, but they are also presented in such entertaining and kid-friendly ways that preparing the foods is more than half the fun.
